It’s Flippin’ Friday! #31

It’s Flippin’ Friday again!

Last week we had some more great flip stories about another Starbucks mug (these are fantastic), Corn Huskers lotion, an amazing piece of art from an Indiana artist, a Far Side mug, a “Cashflow” game,  Blackbird Designs cross stitch patterns, and a vintage hippie vest.  These were great stories!

Have a great flip story?  Just share it in the comments section below!  We love ’em!

Happy Easter everyone!

  1. Thanks to your tutelage, last weekend I picked up a book that looks like nothing. Once home, I listed the book, Smart Soapmaking and sold it immediately for an $11 profit. Thank you for your wonderful blog and inspiring information. In the past, I would have walked right past this book. So glad I didn’t do that last weekend!

I have also found my first Starbucks mug since beginning to read Late Night Coffee. I hope to get this listed soon to see how that little experiment goes.

I just got back from a super cheap sale where I picked up 13 Paranormal books, all hardcover except one, for a total of 3.25! These are mainly Christine Feehan and Karen Marie Moning. These all seem to sell and I can’t wait to get them listed! I got a few other things, coffee mugs and such also verryyy cheap! Also when you are out at sales keep your eyes peeled for vintage Fire-King Jadeite (it’s green)! C handle and D handle mugs sell very well. I just sold a total of 6 mugs this week on ebay for over 150.00!

I bought a Led Zeppelin silk necktie for $1.55. Listed it as a buy it now for $19.99 and it sold in about five minutes! That was exciting. At first I thought my auction had just gone missing. I couldn’t believe it had already sold.

  4. A couple months ago I bought a Mother & Baby Rabbit Cookie Jar at the thrift store for $3.99. It didn’t have any markings, but I found the exact same cookie jar on the web selling for $85. Turns out, this cookie jar was sold at Mervyns in the 1980s. Mervyns no longer exists and this jar is rare. Last week, it sold for $50 and the buyer from Australia paid over $50 to have it shipped. I love international buyers!

Was at an estate sale a few weeks ago and picked up 3 pairs of True Religion jeans for my daughter for 20 buck each. Only one pair fit her so the other went right to ebay, sold them for $98.00! Whoo hoo!! The 3rd pair is getting listed this week.

Remember the Barbie Polaroid camera? At the thrift store I ran across a Spice Girls Polaroid camera. Never knew they made them. Bought it for $2.92 and sold it for $49.99 in two days! I sold a set Fire King Zodiac mugs for $200 to Japan (paid $2.50-double wahoo on that!), and a vintage Orchids of Hawaii tiki mug. I don’t think Orchids of Hawaii has been mentioned before but put that on your mental list to watch out for. Trader Vic ones too. Some go pretty high and they’re a fun kitschy item to sell.

ps-I’ve sold 6 Starbucks mugs this week. Good luck Tammy on yours. Congratulations Tina!! Fire King Jadite is a Fantastic find!
