It’s Flippin’ Friday! #32

It’s Royal Flippin’ Friday! Good day to all of you!

If you didn’t get a chance to glance at last week’s flips, we had some fun stories about a Smart Soapmaking book, some paranormal romance books, Jadeite Fire King mugs, a Led Zeppelin silk tie, a Mother & Baby Rabbit cookie jar, True Religion jeans, a Spice Girls Polaroid camera, and a vintage Orchids of Hawaii tiki mug.  FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

If you’ve had a flip you would like to share, just write it in the comments section below. And as always…..”INSTANT TREASURE FINDING KARMA” will be bestowed upon you!

Happy hunting!

Good morning! Recently, I found a vintage (although it’s hard for me to consider 1986 “vintage”) Dimensions cross stitch kit of a Charles Wysocki print, new in its unopened package. I paid 25 cents for it and just sold it for $36.58! I can remember my mother hunting for C. Wysocki prints, and she still has them displayed today, otherwise, I might not have known the value of this kit!

Ooo, Linda, good to know on the Wysocki!

I had a bible flip recently. I paid $3 and sold it for $25. It had a dust cover that was a bit shabby, but really nice underneath, leather-like hardcover and big and sturdy, thank goodness for Media Mail. Totally brand new under the dust cover, so check out those bibles sitting there looking plain in their covers. It was called an Open Bible which I don’t know much about, this one was a red letter KJ version.

When listing I wanted to put “leather bound” but had no way of knowing if it was real leather or if that is just a term for that kind of look. Any input on that? Thanks!

Just found your blog last week and I love it! Over the weekend, I think I read every post you’ve ever written. I visited several thrift stores this week and based on your advice, I picked up a book called Number Knitting by Virginia Woods Bellamy. I never would’ve given this book a second look a week ago. I brought it home, looked it up and it sells for $150!– I paid $1. So exciting! Thank you!

Hey all, went to a garage sale 2 weeks ago and bought a big vintage jewelry box (had 7 drawers) for $5.oo. Sold it for $35.00. Now, that was a pretty good flip but heres the best part. When I got the jewerly box home I heard something rattling around. Took out the bottom drawer and behind it were five pieces of vintage rhinestone jewelry including a necklace, matching bracelet and 3 brooches. Also found a silver charm bracelet with turquoise in each charm. No gold or diamonds, but still a fun find!

  5. I was at an estate sale over the weekend and picked up about 8 boxes of Mason Jars (from the 70’s) for $5.00 I didn’t really want to deal with shipping them, so I listed them on Craigslist and they have been selling for $20.00 a box. Yay!
