My best flip this week was a $4 pair of Jever Women’s western boots that sold for $47.99. Completely surprised me! But doesn’t compete with my all time favorite Goodwill flip of a 59 cent Wilton 3-Tier cake/cookie cutter that sold for $75!! Apparently this shape had been discontinued and was now in demand.

  2. I want to say thanks for past info about Sandra Boynton stuff being so popular. I was sorting through my overstuffed box of greeting cards the other day and came across 3 Boynton cards that I’ve had forever–they were dated in the late 70s and I’m pretty sure I bought them new! Just never got around to using them. So I put them up for auction last week. One didn’t sell (yet!) but the other two were bought by the same guy–for over 40 bucks! Woo hoo!

I also was looking through some old linens at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago and saw a very cute old embroidered laundry bag. Paid fifty cents, sold for $15. Old linens don’t always sell, but this had very nice embroidery and was a different kind of piece from the usual table runners or pillow cases.

I picked up a Sony Walkman at a thrift store for about $3. I knew they could be good sellers, since they aren’t being made anymore. And people collect EVERYTHING.
I discovered mine was a bit unusual after I left the store. It was a dual cassette player. Plays AND records.
For fun, I threw it up on auction at 9.99 and it ended 7 days later at $229!!!

    • What?! I can’t believe it! I had no idea, and I am surely going to keep an eye out for these. I usually ignore them. Who would have thought an old cassette player would go for so much? Thanks for the info!

  4. This is a rather unusual item that I flipped a few years ago. I had books due at the library and just happened to see a yard sale sign in the neighborhood next to the library. It was late and they must have been eager to pack up. I saw a Martha Pullen smocking pleater at one of the houses. Ka-ching!!!! I had one just like it and I knew they were expensive, between $150 and $300 new, depending on the brand and number of needles. The more rows or half rows of needles, the more expensive.I didn’t really want to pay $10 for it because after talking to her I realized that she didn’t know what she had. I had belonged to her aunt. Yeah!!!I love clueless… I offered her five and she jumped at it. I listed on ebay and sold it for $65 within a week.

  5. I picked up this book, The All Breed Dog Grooming Guide by Sam Kohl, for 50 cents. I sold it for $20.25. All thanks to your tips! I also recently found a Disney character Wilton cake pan. I sure hope to post about a nice flip once I get it listed.

A few weeks ago I picked up 3 Star Wars lego sets and one Avatar lego set. Was excited to see what they go for on ebay completed listings, especially the Avatar! I paid $2.00 each for them. I have not listed them yet because I think they will do better closer to the holidays. My husband thinks I should just list them now. Any thoughts?? If I decide to cave and list them now I will let you all know what they sold for!

I have had tremendous luck selling Lego sets. You need to list them as soon as possible.(especially Star Wars!!!) As Lego is constantly issuing the next model, some of the sets lose value quickly. Flip it now !!!! As usual I love alllll of these Flipping stories! Goodluck!

    • Definitely list the Star Wars set now! Disney is just opening their new Star Wars Tours in Disneyland and Disney World so there’s a lot of hype right now re: Star Wars. Let us know how much they sell for.
