It’s Flippin’ Friday! #55

It’s Flippin’ Friday once again and time for some more great “flip” stories!

Last week, we had some great stories about a French T&V Holly Christmas plate, a vintage wallet, a Wiggles Capn Feathersword, and a giant Care Bear. Good flips….great stories!

What about you? Do you have a story about a flip you’ve had recently? Write it in the comments section below. Be sure to include what you paid for it and what you sold it for….big or small…we love them all!

And head over to Late Night Market for the October scavenger hunt contests! We still have some contests without winners (and some clues today to help with those!).  Fun stuff!

Have a great weekend and happy hunting….and listing!!

I found a Muppet Bunsen Honeydew doll by Sababa toys with tags in the quarter bin at Goodwill, sold on eBay for $39.99 with free shipping. Looks like anything Bunsen related will sell.

I have both a wiggles feathersword and a giant care bear in my inventory – better get them listed!

I had 2 good flips this week. I lucked into 2 nice pair of Dansko shoes, 4$ each, more than I wanted to pay usually, anyhoo, They sold BIN 35.00.
The 2nd flip, I got the idea from here. I’ve been buying runs of magazines and selling most. I had 2 lots of 1980s Keyboard magazine, the first sold for 15.00. The second set of 8 sold for…drum roll please…123.00!!!! I have no idea why, I’ve even sold my fashion mags from sept. 2011. It’s better than recycling. Take a chance on those odd magazines. You never know.

Stephanie’s Muppets comment reminded me of my sale this past week on Bean Bunny from the Muppets 3-D movie at Disney World/Disneyland. Bought him for $.49 and sold for a best offer of $45 (free shipping). From the same store, found a vintage 1980’s My Pet Monster (ugly thing for sure) for $3 and sold it for my full asking price of $82.99 (again, free shipping).

I sold a small Lenox Halloween figurine of a cat and a pumpkin. It was part of one of those mixed bags of whatnot at GW that I bought for 2 or 3 dollars. It was the only one of its type I could find listed on eBay and after listing it a few times it finally sold for my asking price of $30!

I had another good flip. I’ve gotten great ideas from this blog/site. Last week I found some Wilton themed bake pans, I was rummaging through a huge box, finally I offered 10.00 for the whole box, and got it! So I started listing them (maybe 10) for 9.99 each, BIN 17.00. So far I’ve sold 2 at 17.00. I love box lots. There are so many things to look out for at yards sales.

Chicos skinny jean leggings had a bidding war up to $28! (But regular Chicos straight leg jeans and gorgeous ponte jacket–less than $10 each.) Ma Cuisine, vintage French hardback cookbook(English Translation) from the King of Chefs Auguste Escoffier–considered the Bible of French cooking went for $18–that’s not bad for something that had some cooking stains on it and cost $1 at a book sale. But they paid $26 to ship it to the UK! I sure hope it wasn’t worth more…
