I think it bears repeating for new readers – always pick up older hot roller sets but make sure they have MIST! I got a set of Lady Schick Lasting Curls Hairsetter with Beautifying Mist – electric hot rollers w/ the clips from the 70’s(?). I paid $2 and they sold in less than 24 hours for $50! Any brand is good as long as they have the mist or steam.

Can’t think of anything interesting that I have sold! I’ve had no luck selling the hot curlers. Listed them over and over, never sold them. Must have been the wrong kind. I know, I sold 2 side view mirrors from a 1970 chevy truck for 36.00! Found them lying around on the ground at an auction. LOL

Picked up a 24″ very tarnished braided necklace with matching bracelet at a thrift store for $2.00 because it read 925 on the clasp. Took them to a jeweler who told me how to clean them up and they were beautiful. Sold for $58.00 on Ebay. I did have to list them twice, only coming down $5 on the starting price the second time, but it still went for above my first staring price by about $10.

Vintage 1971 framed crewel embroidery “Owls in a Tree” by Erica Wilson – purchased for $3 at an estate sale, sold for $17.95 plus shipping. I’ll be looking for more vintage embroidered pieces! Also purchased a pair of Allen Edmonds men’s dress shoes at the same sale for $2.50 – those are up for sale right now.

Susan, I did not know that completed embroidery pieces would sell! Thank you for posting this. I always pick up embroidery kits, especially if unopened, but now I’ll consider completed pieces too! 🙂

Red Fossil Leather Wallet $19 (paid 1.50), HABA Brand ‘Phil’ Soft Toy Doll $22 (.99), Singing Barney Plush Toy $19 (.99), and Sanita Clogs $40 ($5?)…all with Free Shipping. Slow week, though!

On a whim, I bought 11 hardcover 1980’s-90’s how-to-paint watercolor books at my library for $1 each. I listed each book for $7.99 + shipping and so far, 10 have sold. $11 turned to $79.99 isn’t too bad considering each was a quick list with the ISBN number. I don’t rely on stock photos, I always take my own photos. I may have been able to get more for them but I felt comfortable at $7.99 each and it made for faster sales.

Mid Century Headboard at a church rummage for $10.00 flipped on CL an hour later and sold for $40.00. Needed to buy hay for horses.

Found a brand new red Fossil purse with tags for $5.00, keeping that for myself !!!
